Drilling is a great way to invite users to dig deeper into the data. For example, if you have a measure `Order Items Count` with a value of 10, drilling lets you see more details on those 10 Order Items.

By default, when you drill, Omni will show the first 10 columns defined in your view. However, you can curate what columns are shown upon drilling.

To do this via the UI, click the 3 dot menu on a measure and select Modeling \> Edit

At the bottom of the Edit menu, you can add/remove/reorder the drill fields.

**Note that these changes will exist only for this workbook unless you promote to shared.**

If you prefer to make edits to drill fields via the IDE, you can add `drill_fields` to a measure - more on this in our [documentation](https://docs.omni.co/docs/modeling/measures#drill_fields).

Finally, if you’d like to customize what the default set of drill fields is for measures in a given view, you can use [default\_drill\_fields](https://docs.omni.co/docs/modeling/views#default_drill_fields).
