Displaying Dashboards on Office TVs with Omni

Looking to showcase real-time dashboards in your workspace? While Omni doesn’t have a built-in “TV Mode,” many teams are already setting up clean, always-on dashboard views in their offices. Here’s how:

:white_check_mark: Use Embedded Dashboards

To remove UI extras and create a clean visual experience, we recommend embedding the dashboard. Most folks set up a dedicated “TV user” account with restricted access to only the relevant dashboard(s).

Omni dashboards support auto-refresh! Just set the cadence you want, and your dashboard will stay up to date automatically—perfect for passive display.

:locked_with_key: Handle Authentication

Regarding logging in on the TV, there are a few common solutions:

  • Email Magic Link: Easy to use and ideal for a standalone TV setup.
  • SAML: Works well if your org uses SSO and can provision the TV user account via your identity provider.

Note: Sessions do expire eventually due to cookie timeouts, so you may need to re-authenticate every so often.

:speech_balloon: One More Tip

Some teams use a Raspberry Pi or similar device to power the display and cycle through multiple dashboards using tabs or browser plugins.
